No, Picazor is not a piracy tool, and the question deserves a straight answer rather than a terms page. Every file Picazor is handing you is a file Facebook is already sending, in full, to any browser that opens the post. There is no lock being picked. The video you are watching in the app has been downloaded to your phone already, the app is just not letting you keep it. Picazor is the keep button Facebook is not giving you, nothing more.

If a post is public, the person who posted it has chosen to show it to the whole internet, and saving a copy for yourself is the same act as taking a screenshot, only with the original quality intact. If a post is private, friends only, inside a closed group, Picazor is not seeing it and will not fetch it, and that is by design. We are not asking for your Facebook login for exactly this reason. A downloader that is logging in as you can reach your friends' private posts. Picazor cannot, so it does not.

What you do with the file after that is yours to answer for. Reposting someone's video as your own is theft whether you used Picazor, a screen recorder, or a camera pointed at the screen. The tool is neutral, the use is not, and we are saying it plainly on the page rather than hiding it in a terms link. DMCA requests are getting handled, the link is in the footer.

Made for People Saving Their Own Moments

Mostly people saving their own things. That sounds like a line, so here is the actual list from the requests we are seeing. A mother saving the school play video her cousin posted before the cousin's account goes quiet. A small shop keeping the marketplace listing photos it shot on a phone that has since been replaced, not one copy left anywhere else. A page admin pulling the HD version of a reel the agency posted, because the agency is gone and the source file went with it. A student who needs the audio from a lecture clip and does not want a forty minute screen recording to get it. A traveller with a story from last night that is disappearing in a few hours, and Facebook is offering no save button for someone else's story.

None of those people are pirates. They are people with a link and a problem, and Picazor is the shortest line between the two.

But is anyone knowing that you downloaded it?

No. Picazor is fetching the post from our server, not from your account, so nothing is being logged against your name on Facebook's side. Story views, the little eye count, come from the app opening the story while signed in as you. We are not signed in as you. The person who posted it is seeing nothing.

A Pipe Between Facebook and Your Device, Not a Storage Drive

The link is going to our server. The server is opening the Facebook page the way a normal desktop browser is opening it, reading it, and finding the direct address of the media file on Facebook's content servers. That address is coming back to your browser and the file is streaming from Facebook, through us, to your device. It is not being written to a disk in between. When the transfer ends there is nothing left on our side to keep, leak, or sell.

Cached results are the one exception and it is a small one. If ten people paste the same public reel in the same hour we are keeping the list of file addresses for a short while so we are not hammering Facebook ten times for one answer. The addresses, not the file, and they expire on their own.

Twenty fetches an hour per person, a hundred a day. That is not a number anyone saving a birthday video is ever going to touch. It is there so a script cannot turn Picazor into a scraping farm, and a farm is the fastest way to get every downloader blocked by Facebook, this one included. The limit is protecting you as much as us. And if a public link is failing today it is almost never your link, Facebook changes its page markup constantly and we are fixing our side of it. Paste it again in an hour.

Free, No Extension, No Paywall

Search the phrase and you are getting a page of sites that look the same, a paste bar, five popups, a download button that is opening an ad first. Most of them are running the same open source wrapper underneath and breaking on the same day Facebook changes anything, because none of them are reading the page themselves. Picazor is reading the page itself. That is the whole difference, and it is the reason albums with hidden photos, marketplace galleries and profile pictures are working here when the paste bar down the road is returning nothing.

Indeed, indeed the others are free too. Free is not the question. Ask what a site is asking you to click before the file arrives, and count the redirects. Here the button is the button.
